R&D Polymer Specialist

About the Role

Spearhead advanced materials research and testing for high-performance polyamide (PA66 GF25) thermal insulation strips, polymer formulations, and next-generation composite architectural barriers at Blumium's Innovation Lab.

Key Responsibilities

• Formulate, test, and characterize polymer blends and fiberglass-reinforced composites for thermal break profiles.
• Perform mechanical property evaluations including tensile strength, shear modulus, and creep resistance.
• Evaluate thermal conductivity, flame retardancy, and accelerated weathering performance in laboratory conditions.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to ensure seamless scalability from lab formulation to factory production.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, patent documentation, and compliance data for EN 14024 certification.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Polymer Science, Materials Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Engineering.
• 3+ years of research or industrial experience with engineering thermoplastics and fiberglass composites.
• Hands-on familiarity with testing equipment: DSC, TGA, DMA, and universal tensile testers.
• Deep understanding of thermal insulation mechanics and polymer degradation prevention.
• Strong analytical mindset and proven technical documentation skills.
